Domaine Jean-Marc Bernhard is situated in Katzenthal, in the west side from Colmar, in the heart of the Alsacian wine country. The village lies in a valley surrounded by vineyards along the Alsacian Wine Route. The family estate is situated in the middle of the village, the buildings, date from the 16th century, and were bought by the family Bernhard in 1802. Nine generations of the family have perfected the art of fine wine making and with a strict philosophy in vine management the Bernhard Estate was awarded organic wine making recognition in 2012.
Produced from 100% Gewurztraminer from 40 year old vines, which are hand harvested and selected. Fermentation takes place with natural yeasts, maturing on fine lees in stainless steel. Pale golden in colour, with floral aromas with notes of spice. The palate is rich, intense and well balanced with flavours of tropical fruits and a lovely lengthy finish.
Lovely with Asian cuisine and mature cheeses.
