Description
The Lafond family have been involved in growing vines since 1780. Valery Taulier, built the first private cellar in Tavel during 1948 and Jean-Pierre Lafond, Valery Taulier’s son-in-law, decided to create the present cellar in 1970. Fond of horses, he gave his Domaine the name of a famous horse – Roquepine. He changed the spelling slightly to give it a touch of Provence and Domaine Lafond Roc-Epine was born. With a family history going back centuries, this family owned producer remain committed to quality wine with very traditional qualities and in 2009 the decision was made to go 100% organic.
A blend of Grenache and Syrah, his delicious wine is deep red in colour with aromas of ripe black fruit – dark cherry and blackcurrant, the palate is generous with lovely tannins with a hint of spiciness and a touch of earthiness the finish is a pleasure!
This wine is a good accompaniment to red meat and a range of Mediterranean dishes.
