Description
Tocco is an organic family farm in Alanno, in the Pescara hills facing the Adriatic Sea in Abruzzo. Patriarch Enisio is joined by his sons Lorenzo and Danilo, as well as his nephew Sebastiano to produce wines from vines planted in 1990 that are typical of the region and grape. The use of only natural fertilizers and application of organic protection methods are used to manage vines and respect the growing cycle of the plant.
Produced from 100% Montepulciano, the grapes are macerated on their skins for 10 days, then aged in a mixture of stainless steel and oak barrels. the wine is a rich ruby red colour with a lovely violet aroma. The palate brings forward flavours of ripe red fruit with hints of spice and a little chocolate. The finish is more than satisfying with a subtle note of liquorice.
This wine is great with traditional Italian dishes with red meat and tomato and garlic sauces or full flavoured cheeses.
