Description
The Thistledown Wine Company has sites in the Barossa Valley, McLaren Vale and Adelaide Hills. The Quickening is produced in the Barossa Valley, synonymous for its production of Australian Shiraz. The two main soil types in the Barossa which are both thought to be relatively low in fertility, are, loam, sand to clay and sandy light-brownish grey to dark grey brown soils. Many of the most famous vineyards have a deep red tinge to the soil colour which contributes to the intensity and deep colouration of many of the wines.
Produced from fruits sourced from Eden and Ebenezer, the fruit is hand picked with a percentage of whole bunches and fermented on wild yeasts with minimum intervention. This Barossa Shiraz is deliciously vibrant with deep ruby colour tones and wonderful aromas of spices, plums and blackcurrant. the palate brings forward flavours of blackcurrant, plum with hints of sage and vanilla. Full bodied with silky smooth tannins and a mouth-watering finish.
Exceptional with Mature Cheeses, Barbeque Lamb or Beef, Spicy Pizza or Pasta
