Description
Domaine Patrick Javillier is in the heart of Meursault, covering 11 hectares in the Côte de Beaune. The history of the estate can be traced back to 1945 when Raymond Javillier decided to cultivate 2 hectares of vineyards which had always belonged to the family. When Patrick, Raymond’s son, joined his father in the mid-70s he started to work tirelessly to expand the family holdings and elevate the standing of the estate as one of the references in Mersault. Now, the third generation is gradually taking over, helping to craft exemplary Chardonnay and Pinot Noir wines.
This excellent wine from Burgundy is produced from 100% Chardonnay grown at high altitude on white marl soil over limestone rock. After harvest, the Chardonnay grapes are pressed and then fermented in oak barrels. Aged for 17-18 months and bottled with minimal fining and filtration. A light straw yellow colour with aromas of citrus and apple. Full bodied with flavours of tropical fruit accompanied by subtle citrus notes and a light hint of minerality. Complex and interesting with a lovely lingering finish.
Pair this wine with seafood, cold terrines and white meats.
