Description

On the Anatolian Peninsula  between  tbe Mediterranean and Black Seas, Turkey grows more grapes than almost any country on earth.  However, only a very small proportion of these grapes are made into wine, as a Muslim-predominant nation, Turkey’s alcohol consumption is low.  The Pasaeli Vineyards and Winery were founded in 2000 by Seyit Karagözoglu , aiming to revive and celebrate the forgotten native grapes of Turkey, like this Sidalan, a grape native to northern Kaz Daglari.

From a single vineyard at an altitude of 300 metres the indigenous Grapes are pressed as whole clusters, made entirely in stainless steel tanks including ageing on the lees for three months. A  fascinating organic wine is pale straw yellow with aromas of honeysuckle and apricot, the palate is herbal and peppery with a creamy texture.  Smooth and balanced with a pleasant finish, this wine is interesting and with character.

Beautiful with Grilled White Meats or Fish and Shellfish.
