This wine comes from the first ‘carbon-neutral’ winery in South America. Realizing the winemaking potential of the Maipo Valley in Chile, the De Martino family started their now world-famous Nuevo Mundo Organic wine brand. The family started with the aim of producing wines that have a close connection with nature. As they say themselves: ‘Nuevo Mundo is a tribute to this beautiful corner of Chile and to our exceptional vineyard, which has become our home and we have carefully worked under organic principles, so that the wines are the best representation of this terroir and its varieties. The Estate has been practicing organic viticulture since 1997 and was certified as such in 2001.
This Carmenere, fermented using native yeasts, presents a deep colour. On the nose it has spicy notes, commonly related to this variety, which are nicely integrated with moderate oak. It is ripe and plummy with medium structure and velvety tannins making it very seductive and approachable.
Ideal served with lamb or other red meat, as well as with mature cheeses.
