Description
The Gioia del Colle is a Wine region in Puglia, southeast Italy. The vineyards of Fatalone were set up at the end of the 19th Century by Nicola Petrera an ancestor of the current owner, Filippo Petrera. this wine is the result of a combination of traditional values interwoven with modern, organic viticultural practices. The use of sulphur is strictly limited and fermentation takes place using indigenous yeasts. The wine is bottled without filtration to preserve the characteristics of the grapes. The entire operation is powered by solar energy, making the Estate carbon neutral.
Produced from 100% Primitivo grapes, the wine is rich and concentrated with a wonderful aroma of sweet tobacco and flavours of plum, cherry and spice. Incredibly complex and well structured finish.
This wine is a perfect accompaniment to intensely flavoured pasta dishes, red meat and game, and mature cheeses.
