Mora and Memo is the result of the long-held passion of Elisabetta Pala which she describes thus: ‘this was my dream, that is now reality, to make wines able to express my character and my land.’

The dream became a reality in 2013 when Elisabetta started producing organic wines from vineyards located in the south-eastern corner of Sardinia, a rolling hill area surrounded by the tallest mountains of the south of the island. The wine, like the land itself is unique. Writing in 1921, D. H. Lawrence tells us in his book Sea and Sardinia that: ‘This land resembles no other place. Sardinia is something else. It is like freedom itself.’ The same description could certainly be used about Elisabetta’s wine!

Sardinia has a strong tradition of wine production from a range of grapes including Cannonau, used to make this wine.

After fermentation in stainless steel vats the wine is held in oak for about three months, before being finished in stainless steel for about six months. At the end of the ageing process the wine is aged in bottle for three months before its release.

This wine is an intense ruby ​​red color with violet reflections. It has aromas and flavours of ripe fruit – berries and bramble – with hints of spice and coffee. Its smooth and elegant tannins add to its structure and complexity.

Enjoy this wine with red meats, all kinds of stews, cassoulet, and braised meats.
