Description
All the wines from Black Chalk are labours of love: award-winning winemaker Jacob Leadley and family produce wines made with top-quality grapes picked only from vineyards on the chalklands of Hampshire. Why is it called Black Chalk? As Jacob Leadley explains: ‘Black Chalk was used by the old masters to sketch ideas onto canvas before painstakingly creating a masterpiece. Black Chalk Wines hand select only the very best locally grown grapes before beautifully crafting each wine, they are not rushed but allowed time to age in order to produce English sparkling wine that stands out from the crowd.’
This small batch traditional method sparkling wine is created using the three classic varieties: Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay. The use of oak barrels and time on lees provide this wine with depth and complexity. Beautifully light in colour, Wild Rose is a complex blend of rich, pure raspberries and strawberries that perfectly balance a crisp, clean and elegant finish.
Perfect to be drunk on its own.
