Description

The Biscardo Family Winery was founded in 1878 by Terenzio Biscardo who was one of the first promoters of the commercial wine producers.  The family was also in the textile industry as well as running a Hotel. By the 1950’s the Biscardo company became one of the most important of Veneto thanks to the hard-work of Luigi Biscardo and through cutting edge investments in the wine making and bottling process.  The vineyards are close to Barbarano, in the proximity of Euganei hills and Abano, a worldwide famous area for its thermal wellness centres due to sulphurous and curative waters. The Pinot Nero vineyards have been growing over the last 20 years on this rich soil, characterized by several traits such as the capacity of retaining the humidity reached during the night and the efficient drainage during the rainy days. Moreover, the area was volcanic, so it is full of rich minerals and clay.

The grapes are gently pressed, so the must extracted is pure free-run juice. Thanks to this process the main aromas obtained are well defined, delicate and fruity. The fermentation is done in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature. Finally, the aging continues for few months in stainless steel tanks while the wine refines on its own yeasts.  This Rosapasso is a structured fresh wine, a beautiful salmon pink colour with inviting aromas of strawberry with a hint of peach and apricot.  Beautifully dry but balanced with a note of honey which leads to a elegant long finish.

Perfect on a summers day to drink alone or with a Shellfish Salad, Avocado with Prawns, Soft Cheese, Olives.
