Description
Antonini Ceresa produces his wines from vineyards in the Salento and Manduria areas of Puglia, where the Primitivo grape is traditionally well suited to the area. Some say the Primitivo grape is the same as Californian Zinfandel because of it’s deep spicy jammy flavour profile.
This lovely every day drinking wine is produced with traditional ‘on the skin’ vinification with 25 days maceration to give body and consistence to the wine. Several months resting on lees, it is finally bottled after large mash filtering to preserve character. The result is an intense red colour with purple reflections, with a complex aromas of spices and red fruit jam. The palate is full-bodied, with soft ripe tannins and flavours of blackberry and spice which lead to a silky smooth finish.
Perfect with Beef Bourguignon, Lamb Tagine or Mature Blue Cheeses, Rich Pasta Dishes
