Antica Enotria was founded in the early 90s when Raffaele Di Tucco with his wife Addolorata, left Basilicata, their homeland, to start a new life in Apulia, following the dream of a fertile land that can give unexpected fruits. They cultivated 40 hectares of vineyards and vegetables without using synthetic products and genetically modified organisms. The purchase and renovation of the Contessa Staffa farm, near the Cerignola countryside, marks the beginning of a journey made of unusual choices and desired successes that led the company to make organic wine first and later allowed the creation of pickles, tomatoes and ready-made sauces. A vision outside the box, in some ways risky, which has repaid the family for all the efforts that have taken place over the years.
The Grapes are put into steel ferments where during fermentation the skins macerate with the must for a period of 10 to 20 days to give colour and structure. Matured without oak in steel tanks for 8 months. This delightful blend of three varietals is a deep ruby red colour with hints of violet. Aromas of cherries and forest berries with a little spice followed by flavours of sour cherry with a hint of blackberry and pepper. Beautiful soft tannins and balanced acidity lead through to a lovely warm finish.
Perfect accompaniment to Spicy Tomato Pasta, Pizza, Mature Soft Cheese.
Montepulciano, Nero di Troia, Sangiovese
