This wine has aromas and flavours of black fruit and plums with just a hint of violets underpinned by liquorice, vanilla and spice. Firm tannins and a long finish round off this complex wine.

Description
Nestled in the heart of Hawkes Bay, Alpha Domus began in 1989 when founders the Ham Family, Anthonius and Leonarda, along with their sons purchased 20 hectares of bare land in an area of the Western Heretaunga plains, later to become known as the Bridge Pa Triangle Wine District. Emigrating from Holland in the early 1960s the Ham family established themselves as nurserymen before going on to create Alpha Domus in 1990, producing their first vintage in 1996. Still 100% family owned the family is committed to make premium quality wines that are true to varietal character and reflect their unique terroir. Their vineyard lies in the renowned Bridge Pa Triangle Wine District of Hawkes Bay.
The Navigator is a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Malbec, each grape fermented separately in oak barrel then matured for 12 months. Softly concentrated with deep and dense aromas of plush red fruits, cocoa, spice and cedar, the palate is medium-full bodied with rich and succulent flavours with an exquisite long finish.
This wine makes an ideal accompaniment to beef dishes, other richly flavoured foods and cheeses.
