Description

The first traces of the Bichot family date back to 1214. They settled in Burgundy in 1350, in their fief of Châteauneuf-en-Auxois. The family’s coat of arms has not changed since nor has its symbol, a doe (biche).  In 1831, Bernard Bichot founded a wine trading business in his name in Monthélie. His son, Hippolyte, succeeded him and bought the first vines in Volnay.   His son, Albert Bichot, the first to bear the name, gave the family business new momentum in the late 19th century and settled in the centre of Beaune once and for all in 1912.  The second Albert Bichot was born in the 1900s and his son Alberic Bichot took over the management of the company in 1996.  After managing its vineyards according to the principles of integrated agriculture during the 1990s, the House of Albert Bichot decided to convert its estates over to organic agriculture in the early 2000s, and obtained organic certification in 2014.

Produced from 100% Gamay and vinified and aged in stainless steel without the addition of sulphites, this is a delightful Beaujolais, deep ruby in colour with lovely fresh red fruit aromas and a palate of blueberries supported by soft silky tannins and a juicy soft finish.

Pefect served with roast meats and poultry and silky soft cheeses.
